17 Years Today

If I could paint a picture, for all the world to see, I'd fill it full of hearts, to show how much you mean to me - No, it's not a Valentine card.......

Today we are celebrating our 17th Wedding Anniversary - I can't believe it!!!! It feels like just yesterday we were standing in Church in the Village where I grew up in England saying our vows.......

I've truly had the best 17 years of my life with my "DH".

Seriously - Can you look at this cute cow without smiling? I am just loving all the ways that punches can make you creative.......

I'm sorry but I just have to name her "Daisy" - Did you have any idea that your punches could do this?

Choo Choo Didn't Retire - Wahoooooo!!

I was so happy when I saw that "Choo Choo" #113982 made it into the big book this year.

Don't you just love the "Right on Track" wheel #113838 that coordinates perfectly with it?

I have just one problem with "Right on Track" - it looks like a fence to me - I have this dreadful habit of seeing things that other folks don't and I just can't turn them into tracks - LOL

Check out page 83 of the new catalog to find these fun things!

Projects I Like

For the most part I try to feature projects using current stamp sets, colors, papers etc. Once in a while I just like to visit old friends - after all you all have many of the items in your cupboards and it's nice for you to see a project to inspire to use what you already have.

This is another one of those cute "memory folders" - I've shown you some others recently and I' hope you've enjoyed them. Have you ever thought of doing something like this and just taking pictures of your "favorite things" and making a memory folder of those? Why not give it a try.

Scrapbooking Tips

Have you ever looked at a scrapbook page that's a work of art, but the problem is that it's the work of art you see first and not the picture? When it comes to scrapbooking I want the first thing you see to be the picture.

Journaling is another one of those things that doesn't always come naturally to me...... The way I think of it is - If I could stand next to the person looking at the picture and tell them about it, what would I say, then I journal that, or maybe there is a fun story that goes with the picture and so I try to journal that.

I don't consider myself a "scrapbooker" - I just happen to like "scrapbooking" and so I just apply lessons I've learned through life into my scrapbooking - for example, my Mom said when you are building a flower arrangement always use odd numbers and the rule of three for colors, so when I stamp I use odd numbers of the same image and when I'm choosing colors I generally use three colors or three shades - you can always add more later.

I didn't create the page below, but I just wanted to show you how simple pages can be and how nice it is that the photo is the feature and the page just enhances it.

Another Fun Card

It's difficult to show you in the picture, but the inside of this card is the same as the butterfly one I showed you a few days ago and when you open it, "Stampin' Up!" looks like it's floating, these are so much fun to give and receive.

Stay tuned, I have a few more examples to show you in the coming days....

Remember - people ALWAYS check out the back of a card to see where it came from - won't this make a cute surprise?

Memory Folders

A few days ago I showed you a mini memory folder using business envelopes. Here's another one for you to see - sorry the light wasn't very good when I was taking the picture, but I thought it might inspire you.

This is a fun way to "dip your toe" into the wonderful world of scrapbooking....... I like to think of them as "capture a moment" keepsakes.

Summer Memories

We're spending the summer making memories, I'm loving every minute of it, but I know I'll be happy when things are less rushed in the winter too so that I can scrapbook some of those memories.

In the mean time, here's a really simple page that I hope will inspire you to create quick pages that capture the moment through the summer.

Blog Posting Issues

Hi there,

Some of you may have noticed that my blog isn't updated as often as normal. This is because of a fix that is being worked on. If my posts won't publish on a particular day, please come back because all the posts I intended to post "will" get posted and so some days there may be more than one. Hopefully this error will be fixed soon - Thank You for your understanding.

Forest Friends

I couldn't be happier that our "Forest Friends" stamp set made it from the Occasions Mini into the new catalog - You'll find it on page 109 #113748.

Stay tuned, I'll have some new samples soon.

Deal Of The Week

Throughout July don't forget to visit my Stampin' Up! Website each Monday from 10:00 AM (Mountain Time) to find out what the "Deal of the Week" is - click Here.

Have a fabulous week everyone!

Fifth Avenue Floral #113734

A few months ago I featured several projects using Fifth Avenue Floral - It's a classic!!! As soon as my ladies saw the projects, they called me and ordered this fabulous stamp set. You'll find Fifth Avenue Floral on page 98 of the new catalog and on the shelves of many of my ladies.

This fun project is a simple folder, with an equally simple belly band - what's really cute is that the sleeves inside are made quite simply from business envelopes and the tabs are created with punch 22 our round tab punch #108340.

I love the way our Eyelet Boarder Punch #113692 can create the look of lace and you wouldn't believe how versatile our 1" Double Stitched Ribbon is - Did you know that it's now available in Real Red? Take a look on page 182 - now that gets me thinking about Christmas - what a cute festive gift this would make with just one or two color alterations....... hmmmmm......

Flight of the Butterfly

Take a look on page 187 of the new catalog and you'll see that punch number 31 "Butterfly" #116629 is now available and of course it makes this fun card even easier to create.

Now hop on over to page 108 and you'll find this fabulous stamp set "Flight of the Butterfly" #111564

The grass was created using the stamp from "Inspired by Nature" #111656 on page 96 of the current catalog.

Make the butterflies flutter by attaching them to strips of our window sheets and scoring/folding the center of the card accordion style and you have something totally unexpected.

Stay tuned - I'll be posting more cards like this - look below in the top right corner for a hint of what's to come!

Happy 4th Everyone!!!

I was trying to think of the perfect way to reward you taking time away from your friends and family today to visit my blog and so I thought I'd share this fun pop up die made using one of my favorite tools the Big Shot. A few days ago I also posted a mini movie to show you how this fabulous product works.

It's amazing what the Big Shot can do - oops should have made time for a manicure.
People often say "do you have July 4th in England" - I always say "yes - we just don't celebrate it like they do here" - it's fun to see the red faces - LOL. Enjoy a great day!
