Huge Retired Stamp Sale

If you've ever seen the movie Ghost and the scene where Whoopi Goldberg has to give up a check to a Nun, you'll know how I feel when it comes time to part with some of my stamps. I try very hard not to growl when I hand over the stamp set that someone has purchased.

I have a wonderful collection of new and used stamp sets that I'm selling at the moment. Many have been marked down and this weekend I'm offering an additional $3 off the lowest marked price.

Included are many sets that will work perfectly for Valentines and Easter too.

The prices are the lowest I've ever given on my stamp sale - I always charge full price on new and used stamps, since many are rare and difficult to find, plus I value my stamps no matter what and I know my ladies do too and of course they are not paying shipping, so it is still less than retail.

Testing Comments

Just a quick note to let you know that in the past I haven't switched on the comments section here, but I've added it to today's post and a few next week. I hope to hear from you.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Personal Creativity

Soooo, what dooooo Stampin' Up! demonstrators do when they are not creating paper projects?

Answer - they put all their creative energy into their family!

My daughter asked for a sleepover just before Christmas to celebrate her 11th Birthday -her favorite color is purple and so I created this fun cake for her. I was soooo nervous because I had the idea in my head, but had absolutely no idea how to pull it off.

The girls were amazing, they told me I was like "cake boss" and that Martha Stewart should watch out - that really made me smile, I'm not even close to those two, but it was very sweet of the girls to make me feel good!

While our daughter was sleeping on the eve of her Birthday we snuck into her room and decorated it, the picture doesn't do it justice, it was so warm and cozy, we strung purple lanterns across the room and wound pearls and gems around them, with snowflakes hanging from the center. We tied back the curtains with purple ribbon and put up a small pink "Birthday" tree with colored lights. It was a magical place for the girls to sleep the next night. I wish you could have seen it, but more than that I wish you could have seen her face and the sparkle in her eyes when she saw it for the first time.
The theme for our sleepover was "mismatch" so that nobody had to buy new clothes or PJ's just before Christmas. The challenge for me was creating a fun table scape that was mismatched but looked fun. We hung different colored balls from the ceiling at different heights, garland across the window and purple lights were threaded through the blinds.

I wish you could see how the table sparkled - everyone wanted to eat the lime green lollypops and delicious looking candy cane decorations.
This was a magical party that I will never forget. Turning 11 for my daughter was a special event.

What I loved about the decorations is that they worked perfectly for new year too. We scattered crystals all over the table adding to the sparkle that was already there from the glitter we'd sprinkled and we filled champagne and margarita glasses with coordinating mini decorations.
What a fabulous Christmas, Birthday and New Year! I wish you could have seen it all for real, the pictures just don't capture the light and sparkle.

Sooo Sorry Technical Issues.......

Hi there,

I'm so sorry that there was no post yesterday, our Internet connection was running soooo slow that I couldn't upload anything.

On the upside, I had more time to be creative and had a fun day making all kinds of projects and yes, I actually started on my Easter projects - Valentines last week, Easter this week, what next?

I have some great projects to share with you next week, so stay tuned!!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Sunny Day Simply Scrappin' Class

Images © 1990-2010 Stampin' Up!
At last I have a new Simply Scrappin' class for you.
You can create all this and so much more from one kit (10 cards and 3 different 12x12 Scrapbook Pages)
and 5 sheets of 8 ½” x 11” Whisper White card stock, Glue and a Paper Trimmer

Elizabeth Reeve – Email: reeveelizabeth@hotmail.com

For a long time now I’ve wanted to showcase the fabulous new Stampin’ Up! Simply Scrappin’ Kits from the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog. My challenge last year was that many of my customers are primarily card makers and probably wouldn’t take a second look at a “scrappin’ kit”. I also have a number of customers who are scrapbookers and don’t make cards and then there is the group who do both and so l created two fun classes – one using rub ons and one using our now retired Best Ever Simply Scrappin’ Kit – The response to my classes was beyond anything I ever expected or hoped for – Coast to Coast and around the globe – I was stunned!

The thing that struck me most as I was creating these projects was that they made me smile, they are soooo bright and cheerful - I can’t decide if it was the fun, yet flexible images or the fabulous color combinations.

· For my “card makers” – I made 10 bright and fun cards from half, yes, half the kit plus five sheets of 8 ½” x 11” Whisper White card stock and as well as still having half the kit still unused, there were still pieces left over to make a few extra projects, which means you can make more than twenty cards out of just one Simply Scrappin’ kit.
· For my “scrapbookers” – I made 3 different but coordinating 12x12 scrapbook pages from half, yes, half the kit and of course with the other half of the kit you could easily create coordinating facing pages for a double spread and there were plenty of images left over for extra embellishment or making additional projects later.
· For my “card makers/scrapbookers” – I made three different but coordinating 12x12 scrapbook pages and 10 cards by using the entire kit plus five sheets of extra 8 ½” x 11” Whisper White card stock and there were still plenty of pieces left over for extra embellishment or additional projects.

I chose to use the minimum tools and embellishments to keep the projects simple and inexpensive – perfect for beginners and bliss for long time crafters and the perfect project to take to a crop without having to take along “everything & the kitchen sink”:

Tools:
· Sunny Day Simply Scrappin’ Kit
· Paper trimmer
· Glue – I used my favorite – removable Dotto®
· Dimensionals (totally optional)
· Whisper White Card Stock
(cards only – 5 or 10 sheets depending on number of cards you make)
· Bone Folder (cards only)
· Time (not as much as you would think)
· Imagination and Creativity (totally optional)
· Friends/Family to share your fabulous creations with

Note to downline and other demonstrators – this is great because it appeals to everyone and you can make it fit anyone’s budget and who wouldn’t want to make all these cards/projects with just a few simple tools?

There are pictures with the by mail class for each card, and each scrapbook page, along with very simple directions – the pictures speak for themselves, so I didn’t see the need for step by step directions, but I did include dimensions, tips and directions where needed, right under each picture.

At the end of the project I still had lots of stuff left, so I’ll be creating more.

Would you like to take part in a creative gathering to make these fabulous projects? Send me an email reeveelizabeth@hotmail.com.

My son (7) who isn't really into anything crafty actually sang while he was making these.

My daughter (11) who absolutely loves anything crafty said "These are great - no glue"

I can't believe that by January 9th we were all done and we had a fabulous time.

My husband was shocked and said "Soooo, what's next week - Easter?" He has no idea that he could be right since my cute Easter Bunny stamp from the Occasions Mini is due to arrive today - heee heee.

My stamp club ladies will be receiving these as my swaps on Saturday - I wonder what they'll find inside - hmmmmmm.
