Simply Scrappin' Kit

I was stunned when I saw the fabulous images, then there was the sensational textured 12x12 card and before I knew it I was holding amazing 12x12 double sided designer paper paper too, and not one sheet of each designer paper, not two sheets of each, but three sheets of each.

Now I'm going to make you a promise...... I promise to create a class for both card makers and scrapbookers using this "Best Ever" Simply Scrappin' Kit, so stay tuned.

What I also love is that this kit has a coordinating stamp set and die cuts for the Big Shot - You can't help but make beautifully coordinating prjects - WOW!

Have I told you lately that I absolutely love being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator?

I have a friend who inspires me to be creative - she loves to make cards, but she's known around here for her impeccable taste in clothes and for always looking amazing - even at eight in the morning.

When I look at this stationary set I made for her, I can just imagine it in her hands. When you create something from the heart, it just fits and this has "Debbie" written all over it.

When I want to make something truly special, I just imagine that it is a gift for someone special and somehow it always turns out better than I expected.

I made this stationary set for my Mom, blue is the color of her front door - yes, her front door!

When my Mom visited last January, she came to my stamp club and I gave her my scallop punch for her Birthday because she liked it.

The last time my Mom visited at Thanksgiving, I put this on her pillow as a welcome gift.

I'm not sure introducing my Mom to Stamping was such a good idea, since every time I turned around during her visit, she was popping into my "studio" (the laundry room) and borrowing my stuff. It was wonderful and now she's 3,000 miles away and I sure wish she'd pop in and borrow something again soon.

Every Christmas Eve my children sprinkle "Santa Dust" outside - no matter where we are celebrating Christmas and each year "Santa Dust" looks a little different.

Here is my 2008 version. I sold them for $3.50 for the completed packet or you could buy kits in sets excluding the bag contents. My Mom took lots back to England for the children she shares Christmas with there.

I love this tradition!

This is a mini magazine holder I made for a friend in hospital - you know how there are always one or two nurses who just go that extra mile for you?

Well I thought my friend would like to havve a few little note cards she could leave once in a while for one of those "special" nurses.

Sorry the picture is a bit dark, I was trying out my new camera.

A Play Date With My New Toys

This card is so simple. I had great fun making it with my new stamps - Sweet Stems and Elegant Thank You from the brand new 2009 Stampin' Up! Spring Summer Idea Book and Catalog.

Don't forget to go all the way to the back of your catalog this time, there are new stamps on the last page too.

Heat Embossing and Resist

Technique A: Heat Embossing

1] Place your card stock in a Powder Pal tray or over a large piece of scratch paper.

2] Rub the Embossing Buddy across the card stock you want to emboss. This keeps the embossing powder from sticking anywhere but on the ink.

3] Stamp the image with Craft, VersaMark, or embossing ink.

4] Pour powder onto the inked image, making sure that the image is coated completely.

5] Shake off excess powder into the tray and funnel it back into the container.

6] Heat the stamped image only until the powder changes to a shiny liquid and rises.

7] Allow embossed image to cool.

Technique B: Emboss Resist

1] Follow steps 1-7 above, using Stampin' Emboss clear embossing powder.

2] Apply ink with a sponge directly to the paper over and around the embossed image.

3] Wipe the embossed image with a tissue to remove the excess ink.

QUICK TIP
Avoid overheating the powder and burning the paper when working with a heat tool.

My Very First Bloggggg Entry

Hello Everyone,

Wow, I've finally made it into "The New World".

Until recently I had no idea what a blog was and I certainly had no idea that I would need one.

Anyway, it is time to move with the times.

The Stampin' Up! statement of the heart is:

to love what we do
and share what we love
as we help others enjoy creativity
and worthwhile accomplishments....
in this we make a difference!

And I guess if I want to do that with you, then it's time to move out of my Kitchen and onto the "WWW".

I invite you to join me in my journey, there's no doubt that there will be bumps in the road along the way, but it's all part of life's path, so let's go.......
