Guy Cards

You can almost feel the breeze when you look at this card. I didn't create it that way, it just happened when I made a mistake and stamped the tire at the wrong angle.

I'm sending this card all the way to England.

Remember when you stamp images like the boots, you need to add Shadow or shading, so that it anchors the image and it doesn't look like it is floating.

Boy Cards Are Always A Challenge......

Creating cards for boys is fun, but as they get older it isn't quite so simple, especially when they live 3,000 miles away and so this is what I created for my nephews in England.

The great new star brads from Stampin' Up! were perfect to set off the stars.

These would make great stamp a stack cards wouldn't they?

Oval All - A Gift For You......

The contest for Demonstrators from Stampin' Up! last month was to create a class using products from the new Occasions Mini. I didn't enter this month, but Betty did and I just had to recreate this fabulous idea to show you.

I chose to use Raspberry Tart paper. The idea behind this is that you create the cards, but add the sentiments to the box, so that the person using these cards can choose which sentiment they need. The sentiments have dimensionals already attached to the back, so that no glue is needed, they can just peal and stick. The new Oval and Scallop Oval punches are a perfect match for the fabulous Oval All stamp set.
When you purchase $40 net. from the Occasions mini during April, you automatically get to choose an item from the under $10 page in the current idea book.
When you purchase $40 net. from the Occasions mini during April, I will automatically email you directions showing how to create the projects above using the designer series paper also featured in the Occasions Mini.
Thank you again to Betty for her amazing inspiration!

A New Challenge

A few weeks ago, I decided to attempt a fellow stamper's challenge and had so much fun that I decided to try her latest one.

The criteria is:
Brown card stock
At least 3 brads - these may be any size, color or shape
Journaling must be in strips

Here is what I am submitting:

What you can't really see in the picture is that I used a window sheet over the top of the image to make it pop - We now have window sheets available again, take a look in the Occasions Mini.
As soon as I saw the Branch Out stamp set in the new catalog, I knew I wanted it, but what I didn't realize was that it would be absolutely fabulous to use and there was no need for a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.
I'm running short of cards for men and boys and so I'm planning on creating a stamp a stack soon featuring these types of cards.
Can't you just imagine sitting under this tree on one of those unexpected warm first days of Spring? I bet the person who owns these boots is just "over there..... sitting with their feet in a pool of water - where do you think they are?

How To Make A Pocket

Do you remember a few weeks ago Kirstin sent me a card with a check in and I loved it so much, I posted it, then I loved the idea so much I made it with my stamp club?

Here are some pictures to show you how to do the same:

Step 1. Cut your card to the height you want the finished card to be, then times that measurement by three and cut the card to that length. Next score that same distance in from both ends. You should now have three equally scored sections.

Step 2. Score corner to corner on the center square and fold as shown above and below.

Step 3. Fold the card as shown below. The card will now feel like it is upside down, so just turn it so it looks like the second picture and it will look right. Once you are happy with it, add adhesive - remember, where the pocket is, you just need to add adhesive down the edge, so that you can slide your check, money, recipe or greeting into the pocket.

Now you can just decorate the front however you wish. Thanks again Kirstin for such a fabulous treat.

Big Shot Cookie Monster

My daughter told me the other day that "cookie monster" is going to become "veggie monster" - I sure hope that isn't true. I need an excuse to make lots of these cards.

Mind you, after all the Easter chocolate I ate, I kind of wish there was a "chocolate monster" - oh that's right, he's called the Easter Bunny - Heee heee.

Easter Sunday was a fabulous Spring day here, picture perfect - Hope you had a wonderful time!
