A Special Memory

I wanted to share this with you today, because it reminds me of how precious life is and how people are more important than things.......

This card was created by a dear lady, she saved these pins from clothing that she had to have cleaned after her home caught fire - I love that she created something so special from something that could have been so tragic.

When Mama Julia told me about her fire, the first words she said were "we are so blessed", I couldn't believe that anyone who's house had caught fire could consider themselves "blessed" - later I found out that the walls of Julia's house were on fire and she was inside, completely unaware of the fire creeping silently around her, behind the walls - it was a neighbor who raised the alarm and saved this amazing lady - so you see, this treasure that Julia made, really is a "treasure" ...and now you know why I just had to share this wonderful creation.

Thank you "Mama" Julia, I will treasure this always ;-)

I can just imagine the smile on Shirley's face as she created this heartfelt swap for our recent stamp club. I love the way she cut the front of the card at an angle to reveal a hint of the warm wishes inside!

Sweet Translucent Evelope Book

Just before Christmas our stamp club had a wonderful gathering and we all shared sweet treats that we'd made - everyone wanted each other's recipes and so we decided that our first project of 2011 would be a recipe book where we could share all our wonderful ideas.

Each member of the group brought along a picture of their treat and the recipe and now we have a wonderful collection of recipes to go along with our special memories of our Holiday 2010 gathering.

My next plan is to make some of these cut books for new moms, so that they can create simple but special memory books.

Thank you as always to my wonderful stamp club - you inspire me every day!

On a personal note, please accept my apologies for the lack of posts this year. We began homeschooling our son in January and so life has been a little different. Home school is going really well and the biggest and most unexpected bonus has been a huge improvement in our little man's health.

I promise to try and update my blog more often as we settle into our new routine! Thank you to everyone who has called, emailed and written to offer their support and understanding, it means the world to us!
