Just before Christmas our stamp club had a wonderful gathering and we all shared sweet treats that we'd made - everyone wanted each other's recipes and so we decided that our first project of 2011 would be a recipe book where we could share all our wonderful ideas.

Each member of the group brought along a picture of their treat and the recipe and now we have a wonderful collection of recipes to go along with our special memories of our Holiday 2010 gathering.

My next plan is to make some of these cut books for new moms, so that they can create simple but special memory books.

Thank you as always to my wonderful stamp club - you inspire me every day!

On a personal note, please accept my apologies for the lack of posts this year. We began homeschooling our son in January and so life has been a little different. Home school is going really well and the biggest and most unexpected bonus has been a huge improvement in our little man's health.

I promise to try and update my blog more often as we settle into our new routine! Thank you to everyone who has called, emailed and written to offer their support and understanding, it means the world to us!

This is the card we made for stamp club last Saturday - I'm so glad to have my ladies to inspire me to go beyond my comfort zone and try new things.

Our Cat Has Her Own Stationary

While we were away at Thanksgiving some dear friends cat sat for us. I can't think of a nicer way to thank them than sending them thank you notes made on Jess's own personal had stamped stationary.

I plan on making some cards and treat bags for our local Humane Society, because without them we wouldn't have Jess and she has brought sooo much joy to our house. Even if she did chew through a light bulb on our Christmas tree and steel the candy canes, leaving teeth marks in them. Not to mention that she runs off with the children's pencils when they are trying to do their homework.

How To Make A Pocket

Do you remember a few weeks ago Kirstin sent me a card with a check in and I loved it so much, I posted it, then I loved the idea so much I made it with my stamp club?

Here are some pictures to show you how to do the same:

Step 1. Cut your card to the height you want the finished card to be, then times that measurement by three and cut the card to that length. Next score that same distance in from both ends. You should now have three equally scored sections.

Step 2. Score corner to corner on the center square and fold as shown above and below.

Step 3. Fold the card as shown below. The card will now feel like it is upside down, so just turn it so it looks like the second picture and it will look right. Once you are happy with it, add adhesive - remember, where the pocket is, you just need to add adhesive down the edge, so that you can slide your check, money, recipe or greeting into the pocket.

Now you can just decorate the front however you wish. Thanks again Kirstin for such a fabulous treat.

Playing Catch Up or as my Children Say "Ketchup"

Wow, it's just been one of those weeks.

Every time I turn around there is something else that crops up and everything I had planned goes right out the window......

........So, tonight I'm going to be proactive and post ready for tomorrow and of course that means that it will be a regular day - here's hoping......

I love these little buckets above - you just place any card or designer series paper on the die, run it through the big shot and you have a cute pocket bucket card or a 3d bucket to put treats in. It doesn't get any easier than that.
