Holiday Inspiration!

With the Holidays fast approaching, it is time to turn my attention to family and so here is a collection of fun projects that my ladies and I have created ready for the festive season.

We had so much fun creating sweet treats to share that we've decided to create a treat book with our recipes and hints on how to survive the Holidays - I can't wait to make our project during our January Sale-A-Bration meeting.

While The Turkey Is Roasting.......

Every Thanksgiving while the turkey is roasting, we used to make a gingerbread house with the children, but my son has lots of food allergies and so it isn't quite as much fun any more, well it wasn't until we came up with making a gingerbread house without actually using food and now thanks to Decor Accents - Design-a-House #120911 $5.95 - Holiday Mini Page 37, our joint family creativity is back in full swing - Why don't you make this the year that you begin this fun tradition too....

These little boxes are soooooo easy to make with my Big Shot and the Candy Wrapper Die - No cutting or scoring required, it does it all in seconds! Holiday Mini Page 10 #120890

Wouldn't it be fun to have these in a basket for guests who visit at christmas or to use as place cards on your Holiday table? Coordinate them with your Holiday color theme!

I absolutely love, love, love this clear Tinsel Trim - Holiday Mini - Page 21 #120993 - it comes in silver too. It just adds that special Christmas sparkle!

Christmas Treats For Teachers

We always like to make something special at Christmas for those around us who help make our life special all year long. The children loved giving out these cute gifts - each box had a peppermint chocolate chimney and a little bag of peppermint bark.

We used My Digital Studio to make personalized tags for each package and who can resist Stampin' Up! ribbon to add a touch of luxury?

"Green" Magical Chistmas Dust

Hi there,

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We were in sunny Florida and brrrrr, it feels chilly back here in Michigan, but that's just the way it should feel as we head towards Christmas.

Waaaaaay back in the summer my husband decided to be extravagant and bought a case of those pre-mixed coffee drinks. I knew then that I just couldn't stand for them to go in the trash and so we saved them and decided to "go green" with one of our versions of Christmas dust and here it is.

It was great fun using a combination of "My Digital Studio" and stamping!

I've been asked to make these fun jars for all kinds of children around our area to sprinkle on Christmas Eve - I can't wait to hear if Santa and his Reindeer found their way!

Those Pesky School Photos

I've been a demonstrator for more than five years now and every year I think that there should be some way I can send the school pictures that our family insist they need, without just dropping them inside the card.

Well, finally here it is.....

This fun accordion style card is fun and easy to make.

I used my slit punch to create a place to slot each of the pictures (no glue) and just punched a couple of stamped circles to pop over the top.

I chose bashful blue for the snowflake and for the mat around the Christmas tree, so that it tied together with the background of the photos - who said you can't scrapbook a card?

Now my Mom will have the pictures for her wallet all year round with no sticky mess and one more thing - sorry to all the check out clerks in England who will be subjected to my Mom glowing over cute grandchildren when she opens her wallet to pay for anything in 2010.

Insired By A Little Box - Snowman Soup

The other day I was looking at the little white box that my Sweet Treat Cups from the Holiday Mini came in and I knew I had to do something with it. Just look what happened.....

I had snow much fun with this, using things I haven't used for ages and combining them with a few new things too.

I made a bunch of these as my swaps for stamp club last week, but obviously I didn't have that many cute, shiny white boxes and so I just downloaded a box template from the Stampin' Up! web site and all was well.

Fifth Avenue Floral #113734

A few months ago I featured several projects using Fifth Avenue Floral - It's a classic!!! As soon as my ladies saw the projects, they called me and ordered this fabulous stamp set. You'll find Fifth Avenue Floral on page 98 of the new catalog and on the shelves of many of my ladies.

This fun project is a simple folder, with an equally simple belly band - what's really cute is that the sleeves inside are made quite simply from business envelopes and the tabs are created with punch 22 our round tab punch #108340.

I love the way our Eyelet Boarder Punch #113692 can create the look of lace and you wouldn't believe how versatile our 1" Double Stitched Ribbon is - Did you know that it's now available in Real Red? Take a look on page 182 - now that gets me thinking about Christmas - what a cute festive gift this would make with just one or two color alterations....... hmmmmm......
