“Petal Party” SIMPLY SCRAPPIN’ KIT

Images © 1990-2011 Stampin' Up!

I Promised You A Project With The "Petal Party" Simply Scrappin' Kit!!

Petal Party Simply Scrappin' Kit 113059
Page 166 2009 - 2010 Idea Book & Catalog

You can create all this and so much more from one kit
(15 cards and 3 different 12x12 Scrapbook Pages, a Basket, Card Tote)
and 8 sheets of 8 ½” x 11” Whisper White card stock, Adhesives and a Paper Trimmer with scoring blade

For a long time now I’ve wanted to showcase the fabulous new Stampin’ Up! Simply Scrappin’ Kits from the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog. My challenge last year was that many of my customers are primarily card makers and probably wouldn’t take a second look at a “scrappin’ kit”. I also have a number of customers who are scrapbookers and don’t make cards and then there is the group who do both and so l created several fun classes – using rub ons and our now retired Simply Scrappin’ Kits – The response to my classes was beyond anything I ever expected or hoped for – Coast to Coast and around the globe – I was stunned!

The thing that struck me most as I was creating these projects was that they made me smile, they are soooo bright and cheerful - I can’t decide if it was the fun, yet flexible images or the fabulous color combinations.

• For my “card makers” – I made 15 bright, super simple and fun cards from half, yes, half the kit plus eight sheets of 8 ½” x 11” Whisper White card stock and as well as still having half the kit still unused, there were still pieces left over to make a few extra projects and so I’ve stepped it up a bit this time and included a basket and card tote project, all from half the Simply Scrappin’ kit.
• For my “scrapbookers” – I made 3 different but coordinating 12x12 scrapbook pages from half, yes, half the kit and of course with the other half of the kit you could easily create coordinating facing pages for a double spread and there were plenty of images left over for extra embellishment or making additional projects later. Again I’ve stepped it up a bit this time and given you some bonus ideas to create two of the pages in two slightly different ways.
• For my “card makers/scrapbookers” – I made three different but coordinating 12x12 scrapbook pages and 15 cards, along with a card tote and basket, by using the entire kit plus eight sheets of extra 8 ½” x 11” Whisper White card stock and there were still plenty of pieces left over for extra embellishment or additional projects.

As always I chose to use the minimum tools and embellishments to keep the projects simple and inexpensive – perfect for beginners and bliss for long time crafters and the perfect project to take to a crop without having to take along “everything & the kitchen sink”:

Tools:
• Petal Party Simply Scrappin’ Kit
• Paper trimmer – with scoring and cutting blades
• Adhesives – I used my favorite – removable Dotto® and Sticky Strip for the 3d projects
• Dimensionals (totally optional)
• Whisper White Card Stock
(cards only – 8+ sheets depending on number of cards you make)
• Bone Folder (cards only)
• Stapler or 1/16” Hand Held Punch and two brads
• Ruler, not necessary, but useful
• Pencil
• Corner Rounder (totally optional)
• Envelopes if you are making cards and photographs if you are making scrapbook pages
• Time (not as much as you would think)
• Imagination and Creativity (totally optional)
• Friends/Family to share your fabulous creations with

There are pictures with the by mail class for each card, as well as the 3d projects, and each scrapbook page, along with very simple directions – the pictures speak for themselves, so I didn’t see the need for step by step directions, but I did include dimensions, tips and directions where needed, right under each picture.

At the end of the project I still had lots of los of card and paper etc. left, so I’ll be creating more.

My Digital Studio - Very First Project

Let's take the journey together - This is way, way, way cool. You all know that yesterday I published my pdf. class using the Sunny Day simply scrappin' kit right? Well today I received a really cool new product from Stampin' Up! - it's called My Digital Studio and you too can order it in October.

All I did was load the software onto my computer and I selected all the standard items and look, here's a fun card using the Sunny Day Simply Scrappin' Digital template - there were several to choose from.

Images © 1990-2010 Stampin' Up!
Then I decided to play, just a little - you know baby steps and so I thought about who was having a birthday next and changed a few things to personalize the card for my niece, it was soooo easy, even for technically impaired me and I even worked out how to export it so that I could show it to you here.

Images © 1990-2010 Stampin' Up!
And you thought it was all going to be about scrapbooking didn't you? Well, you can make DVD's, Cards and Scrapbooks and those are just the things I can remember.
If you would like to own your copy of My Digital Studio - send me an email reeveelizabeth@hotmail.com and I'll give you all the details - Just imagine having over 2,000 Stampin' Up! images right at your finger tips on your computer - gone are the days of lugging piles of stuff to crops - yey!!!!

And Many Mower Birthday

Do you recognize the striped paper in the background? Yes, I'm still using pieces from the Best Ever Simply Scrappin' Kit - the colors were my inspiration for this card.

Notice how there is a little shading under the mower to make it look like it is grounded and not in mid air.

You can't quite see it, but the Riding hood Red strip on the left side of the card has texture on it to add a little interest and the circle brad in the corner reflects the circles in the wheels and on the golf ball. This card is tied together with color inspiration from the designer paper, stamped images and shapes.

Images © 1990-2009 Stampin' Up!

Even if the person you send this card doesn't play golf, they'll appreciate that you took the time to change an ordinary white circle into the illusion of a golf ball, just by taking a few seconds to run it through your Big Shot with the texturz plate.

And Many Mower Collection

Last week I posted a collection of projects made with one stamp set and I received lots of emails saying how cool it was to see lots of ideas using the same set and so here is a new collection for you.

Images © 1990-2009 Stampin' Up!

Through the week, I'll post the cards individually and give you a little more detail on each one.

Don't forget that you only have through the end of April to order on line and earn a Free Spring Summer 2009 Idea Book and Catalog.

Don't forget that the And Many Mower stamp set is part of the current Occasions mini and when you spend $40 net from the mini before then end of April, you get to choose a FREE item from the Under $10 page in the Spring Summer Idea Book and Catalog.

FREE instructions

It took me a while, but I've finally finished my London make 'n takes.

I started out creating them step by step as the directions said and then I got a little side tracked and added a little of my own inspiration.

All these samples required only three stamp sets and you could actually get away without needing the third one. (Fundamental Phrases)

When you place an order that includes the stamp set Soft Summer from the Occasions Mini and the set Best Wishes and More from the current Spring/Summer Idea Book, I will send you by email FREE the instructions to make six projects either the same or similar to those pictured below.

Images © 1990-2009 Stampin' Up!
The card above was supposed to be a cute little bucket, but I was worried it wouldn't travel well and so I attached the bucket to a card and left the top open so that you could add a little treat or message to the bucket and also write something inside the card. It's my favorite, because the stamp set inspired me to be extra creative.

The project above is actually a treat pouch, it's a tent that you can add a treat to and soooo simple to make.

The card above is actually a two step stamp, but instead of using the image to fill in the stem and flowers, I chose to watercolor them with ink and a blender pen.

When I used the new punch to create boarder on the card above, it went directly onto my wish list and now I can't stop using it.

I haven't found the right snow picture to go on this scrapbook page, but I know it's somewhere in my collection. For now I've stamped snowflakes on the mat. This is the first scrapbook page I've ever made at "scrapbooking" on Friday night!

I haven't lined envelopes before, but it couldn't have been quicker and easier, I can't wait to do it again. Don't you just love this little set, it's perfect to keep on hand to give to someone special.

Best Ever Bookmarks - I'm Still Using The Same Kit

Images © 1990-2009 Stampin' Up!

Hi Everyone - Well, I bet you thought my first post back from the London regional would be about that, it should be, but first I have to show you what I created just as I was leaving.

I went to create a few extra swaps - thinking bookmarks and found that I still had some parts of my Best Ever Simply Scrappin' Kit left over and so I thought I'd post them for you to see. Even after creating all of these, I still have double sided paper and self adhesive strips left over. It's insane how much you can create from one Simply Scrappin' Kit - 4 Scrapbook pages 12x12, 20 cards, 13 bookmark size cards and still more to make.

Sorry, I didn't create directions or dimensions for these, I was just rushing to get a few extra swaps made before we set off.

Best Ever Huge Hit - My Promise To You

Wow, I can't believe the response that this class had received from both my customers and other demonstrators.

I just wanted to say a huge Thank You to everyone who has sent wonderful messages about this class.

It was amazing to get such a response, but what has been even more surprising are the wonderful emails I've received from folks out there who've received the PDF and are busy creating - thank you for taking the time to let me know how it is going.

The only thing I can think of to show you how much I appreciate your support is to promise to create another class for your enjoyment.

Today I ordered a few new toys, there's a plan hatching in my head and I just can't wait for the UPS truck to arrive so that I can get creating again.

For more information on how you can turn the "Best Ever" Simply Scrappin' kit into the projects above, please feel free to email me reeveelizabeth@hotmail.com

Special Request

On Friday and Yesterday I attended the first annual Easter Michigan Scrapbooker's Retreat.

It was an awesome event!

Some of the ladies asked me to post my scrapbook pages that I had on display. Although most of them are older pages and made with now retired items, I'm sure you'll be able to use your creativity and re-create some of them in your own special way.

The pages below were created with a Simply Scrappin' Kit that was available a few years ago. I do have a few kits still available - Please email me if you would like to purchase one $19.95 + Tax and Shipping - reeveelizabeth@hotmail.com.

The only stamping I used on these pages was for the words. I used Letter Press Alphabet which has also retired and I have one gently used set still available.

I will do my best to post the other pages in my scrapbook in the coming days and then next week we'll be back to new fresh items.

I hope everyone had a wonderful time at the retreat.

If you have any questions about the three FREE make 'n takes, please don't hesitate in contacting me and I'll be happy to help in any way I can.

I had to do some quick thinking

Images © 1990-2009 Stampin' Up!

Wow, I had no idea that when Stampin' Up! posted my idea of using a Simply Scrappin' Kit for both cards and scrapbooking that so many people would want details on how to recreate mine exactly.

Of course this is a bit of a dilemma for me, since I am already offering the "Best Ever" class in April and as a "by Mail" item when you purchase the kit.

While I would love to offer my class for FREE to demonstrators, that would not be right to my dedicated customers who have and will purchase the class.

If you already have the "Best Ever" Simply Scrappin' Kit, but would like to purchase the class instructions, simply email me at reeveelizabeth@hotmail.com and when I receive your check for $7:00 you will receive the class details by email. I will send you the pdf by email. The first section contains images of each color group of card photos. Step by step instructions are not necessary, however any necessary instructions and dimensions are included with each photo.
The second section contains images of each of the three 12x12 scrapbook pages and necessary details.
The final Bonus section contains a bonus project (white page), which I added using pieces left over once the cards and three original scrapbook pages were complete.

I guess you could say there is now an option "D" to my class.

Thank you to everyone who emailed to say congratulations on winning the Stampin' Up! competition. I'm still stunned, but thrilled that it inspired you.

Award Winning Best Ever Class

Images © 1990-2009 Stampin' Up!

Well, it's almost midnight, so although it's technically still Monday, I'm going to post my Tuesday post because I have a nice early workshop to do tomorrow morning.

Do you remember a few weeks ago I posted information about a new class I'm offering either by mail or as an actual class in April?

I created the class around the Simply Scrappin' Kit "Best Ever". Because many of you are Scrapbookers, many of you are Card Makers and many of you are Both and you've all asked for a new class, I decided to show you how our Simply Scrappin' Kits work for all of you.

Well....... I thought I'd share my idea with Stampin' Up! too and guess what? Tonight they called me and told me I'd won a prize and that they wanted to place my class on their web site for all their other demonstrators to use. I was stunned, shocked and surprised - Wow - Stampin' Up! have inspired me for years, I didn't in a million years imagine that they would ever use my class as inspiration - Did I say - WOW?

OK, enough of all that, don't forget you can sign up for the "award winning" class as a by mail class, which means - you order the Best Ever kit and I email you all the class information, including images and any simple instructions needed or check my calendar and sign up before March 30th for the April classes on my calendar.
